KU Jacqueline Wilson Hall

A complete refurbishment of the Jacqueline Wilson Hall into a permanent fixed-tiered lecture theatre.

Originally commencing in July 2014 the project had been scheduled for completion Autumn 2015.  Following discovery of ACM within the ceiling void and adjacent spaces the project was delayed and subsequently divided into two packages.

The Jacqueline Wilson Hall is the largest lecture venue on the Penrhyn Road campus.  Previously in poor condition with widespread dissatisfaction amongst both staff and students, the room suffered from a poor seating layout with a third of seats having sightlines outside of the optimum guidelines with seats at the rear being a long way from the lecturer at the front.

The Architon Design Team provided a modern, inclusive solution that satisfied layout, acoustics and AV issues.
