KCH Angio Facility MRI

Under the framework agreement that we have with King’s Health Partnership we were engaged to provide the services of Architect and Lead Consultant to refurbish an existing Angio suite to suit a new piece of equipment.

The suite of rooms consisted of the scanner room, control room, scanner equipment room, scrub preparation and bed wait areas.

The two main project challenges were the interfaces with the existing services infrastructure and the short programme for the design and construction process.  At the onset of the project the Client had not chosen which Scanner they preferred and therefore our design was based on a generic layout which kept the options open.

Once the scanner had been chosen meetings were held with the manufacturer and the design refined to suit the scanner.

During the project it was necessary to liaise with the Trust’s Maintenance Department in order to agree where the new services would be connected.  After a number of surveys with the Services Engineer and the Estates Maintenance Team the design was finalised.

The works were completed on time for the delivery of the new scanner.
