Architon, ARUP and MACE were appointed by Southampton University for a new Cancer Sciences Building on the University Hospital site.  The new building provides world class research facilities and support of Cancer Sciences at the hospital whilst being a University operation.

The initial part of the project was to establish a comprehensive brief following detailed and extensive liaison with the University, User Groups, faculties, other interested support groups (safety, etc.) and the NHS Trust.

Detailed area schedules for all accommodation, equipment and brief adjacencies were developed along with notional layouts prior to tendering.

In conjunction, detailed cost plans were prepared with regular progress reports for presentation to the universities brands.

The appointment continued after tendering with Architon, ARUP and MACE acting together as client side consultants advising the university, by monitoring progress, cost and quality.
